5 big reasons consumers need protection from Walmart

If you never considered why consumers need protection, then I’d like to introduce you to a company called “Walmart.” Anyone willing to buy good quality products at lower rates prefers Walmart for clothing, grocery, electronics, sports, fruits, and vegetables. Walmart, an American multinational retail company, was established in 1962 by Sam Walton.

Since its beginning, Walmart promised the customers to sell the best products at lower costs, and almost 60% of its customers have an annual income of less than $50,000.

However, with time, the company totally forgot its slogan of “Save Money, Live Better,” as it is continuously criticized for selling several products much expensive than other stores.

Although Walmart has grown to 5000 locations in the US, it could not produce well. A few years ago, it started selling organic products such as Morningside organic baby spinach, organic banana, organic milk, etc. Unfortunately, their prices are higher when compared to other stores across America. Walmart is continuously deceiving people by claiming low-rate products, while the reality is the opposite.

The company’s low pricing strategy is persistently drawing customers to sell subpar products, and people think they are getting discounts. In fact, considering Walmart products’ quality, the company is charging more than they need to.

When it comes to fresh food, including vegetables, fruits, and meat, Walmart is present at the bottom of the list regarding the quality of fresh food products, including meat, fruits, and vegetables. According to Consumer Reports, out of 68 supermarkets, Walmart falls at number 67.

According to the Consumer Reports survey, almost 74% of Walmart customers complain about the national discounter for poor quality meat and poultry.

Many customers complain that Walmart sells milk that went bad before its expiry date, and its chicken is of the worst quality.

Apart from fresh products, Walmart is misleading Americans in other products. For example, smartphones are selling at low rates, then the market is slowest and of low quality. Walmart wood furniture, which Americans are happy to buy because of low rates, is more likely to quickly break or deteriorate.

In discounts and deals, Walmart is selling ugly and waste fruits and vegetables to consumers. Behind the row of apples called  “I’m Perfect” are flawed apples, which Walmart sells by claiming unique apples. Not only apples, misshaped potatoes, and four-legged carrots are purchased at lower rates from farmers to sell them at stores.
