AOC’s incredible twitter power which makes her the social media queen

Social media has come to be an influential tool in American politics. Though most congress members use Twitter to connect with people, older ones are slow to take hold of it.

Meanwhile, AOC’s outstanding social media power has won over many hearts. Her superb social media engaging power depicted the young congresswoman’s political stardom within a short time, making her Twitter skills high in demand.

In 2019, the social media queen co-hosted training sessions for Democratic congress members for guiding them about the efficient use and better management of Twitter.

Besides her political tweets, AOC also received a lot of appreciation from her Twitter followers for her special comments about her second-grade teacher. In reply to a tweet in which she was given just one minute to speak, she tweeted a 60-second poem by Dr. Benjamin Mays, which got tons of admiration.

Surprisingly she also received a tweet of appreciation from her second-grade teacher, who made her emotional. AOC expressed her gratitude regarding her teacher and thanked her for believing and encouraging her when she was a student.

AOC’s Twitter account has become a platform for social as well as a political discussion. Apart from millions of twitter army, she also receives immense admiration and support from politicians who even disagreed with most of her beliefs.

In May 2019, AOC started a Twitter campaign with Sen. Ted Cruz to enact legislation to bar the lawmakers from becoming lobbyists. The joint venture started after AOC tweeted a Public Citizen article, highlighting that many Congress members have turned to lobby.

She said it should be completely illegal for a person to become a lobbyist when he had already served in Congress. Sen. Cruz also joined AOC  for legislation, placing a Lifetime ban on former congress members from becoming lobbyists.

AOC has also been using Twitter to express her opinions regarding constitutional matters. In 2020 she proposed an amendment to prohibit American armed forces from using Twitch as a recruitment tool.

However, her proposal was rejected as she also faced opposition from the majority of her fellow Democrats. Following the rejection of the Amendment, AOC took to Twitter to squeeze out her exasperations.

“Imagine, you are trying to explain to your colleagues who are members of Congress what Twitch is,” she tweeted.

These tweets are perfect examples of AOC authenticity as well as fluency. She reacts to different news and creates her own engaging stories, which makes her an unofficial queen of Twitter.
